Highlights

Power up with breakfast at one of Orangeville’s many cafés or restaurants. A coffee and “Eggy Thing” from Mochaberry, a hearty smoothie from Euphoria, or a belly-filling breakfast at Sunset Grill are just a few options to build energy for your busy day.

Equipment and apparel for your active pursuits are available at Moguls in m’ocean, Broken Boards, and Sport Chek. If wheels are your mode of transport, Cycling Elements and The Epic Ride are locally owned bike shops that offer service and accessories to get you rolling.  A map of the local trails and bike routes will help guide your journey along Orangeville’s twenty kilometres of multi-use trails.

Island Lake Conservation Area, a recreational retreat nestled on the northeast end of Orangeville, is a natural venue for open-air explorations, both on land and on water. Bikers and hikers alike can enjoy well-maintained trails that twist through 330 hectares of lake, wetland, forest and meadow.  Make sure to stop and admire the view from a trail-side bench or a boardwalk bridge.  Fishing, boating, and birdwatching are all popular pursuits to enjoy at this outdoor oasis.   Winter activities like snowshoeing, ice fishing, and skating will keep you moving when the weather cools down.

Plenty of indoor options are also available to keep you active while in Orangeville. Test your aim at Far Shot Recreation with archery, axe throwing or archery dodgeball.  A variety of drop-in programs and activities are also available at two recreation centres.

You may also want to time your visit to participate in one of Orangeville’s annual sporting events. Fishing derbies, races, and even a curling “pondspiel” all offer unique opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts.

However you choose to burn your energy, it’s easy to keep your activity levels high during your visit in Orangeville.
